Sustainability – A Responsibility We Live Every Day

As a company of the Prinzhorn Group and a leading manufacturer of containerboard, Hamburger Containerboard in Pitten follows a clear vision: sustainability isn’t a trend, it’s a core principle – ecological, economic, and social.

Sustainability in Training

We aim not only to produce responsible paper, but also to educate responsible young professionals. That’s why sustainability is not an abstract concept for us, but an integral part of our training programs:

  • Experience Resource Efficiency: Our apprentices learn how paper is produced from recycled material, in a nearly closed-loop water system and with energy-efficient technology.
  • Take Responsibility: Environmental, health, and safety protection are part of daily operations. Apprentices receive training in sustainable behavior – both at work and beyond.
  • Think Innovatively: As part of team projects, apprentices are encouraged to develop forward-looking ideas – for example, how to reduce waste, lower CO₂ emissions, or increase production efficiency.

Environmentally Conscious – Today and Tomorrow

As a parent, you can trust that your child is learning in a company that:

  • Uses 100% recycled paper
  • Continuously optimizes energy use
  • Invests in modern, low-emission technologies

  • Security & Stability: As part of a successful family business operating across Europe, we ensure training programs that are built to last.

At Hamburger Containerboard, your child will learn how to use resources wisely – professionally, personally, and with a vision for the future.
