Our apprenticeship training
Paper technicans look primarily after the supervision and control of the production plants. You set the - mostly - computer-controlled machines and controlling the display (e.g. for temperature and pressure conditions). Check the moisture content of raw and semi-masses as well as ready paper roads and cardboard roads; if necessary, adjust the machine after. The servicing and cleaning of the arrangements also belongs to your duties.

As an IT specialist for systems integration, you are responsible for the support and configuration of IT systems. This includes installing and setting up hardware components, operating systems and networks to meet operational requirements. In the event of a malfunction, you will provide assistance with modern diagnostic systems, help users with application problems and support them in getting to know new systems and tools. Your training as an IT specialist for systems integration will cover a wide range of content.
For example, you will learn how to distinguish between different operating systems and their areas of application and what you need to consider when adapting and configuring them, how to analyse software solutions as well as how to design IT systems.

Hamburger Containerboard in Spremberg
Hamburger Containerboard in Spremberg is one of the largest employers in the region with a workforce of around 450 employees.
Following the completion of our expansion project – the second paper machine – Spremberg is now the largest location of the Hamburg Containerboard Division, with an annual production output of around 840,000 tonnes of paper.
In addition to the production of white uncoated corrugated containerboard, we also produce high-quality white coated papers under the RiegerLiner EC-D name. Our portfolio is rounded off by the production of various gypsum-grade paperboard types.
